Terms of Service
The deal between you and us, in plain English.
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Player One Parent ("we", "us") for the Player One Parent Windows app, browser extension, parent dashboard and website (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle data.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of the kids you add, or have their permission.
- You may install Player One Parent only on PCs you own or are allowed to manage, and only to manage accounts used by children in your care. Don't use it to monitor another adult.
- You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password and your PC's administrator password safe.
3. What the service does, and its limits
Player One Parent lets you give your kid daily tokens for play time and turn games, internet or the whole PC off and on from your phone, now or on a schedule. It works on 64-bit Windows 10 and 11 PCs; YouTube and game website controls need Chrome or Edge with our extension.
- It counts time, not matches. When a token runs out (after any grace time you set) or you turn games off, the game closes, even in the middle of a match.
- It's strong, not unbreakable. It's built to hold up against a standard (non-administrator) Windows account. Anyone with administrator access, another operating system, or changes to your router can get around it. If it's stopped or removed, we try to alert you.
- It doesn't change games. It doesn't modify or read games; it only decides whether they may run. We can't control how game publishers or their anti-cheat systems behave.
- It needs the internet for changes. Rules keep working on the PC offline, but changes from your phone arrive when the PC is back online.
Player One Parent is a tool to help you set boundaries; it doesn't replace your supervision.
4. Plans, trial and billing
- Free trial: every family starts with a 14-day free trial, no card needed.
- Founder plan: $9.99 a month for founder families. Your founder price is locked in and won't go up for as long as your subscription stays active. If you cancel and your subscription ends, the founder price ends with it.
- Regular plan: $14.99 a month or $119 a year after the founder launch.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically each month (or year) until you cancel. Prices don't include any sales tax that applies where you live.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms for payment processing.
- Price changes: except for a locked-in founder price, we may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. The new price applies from your next renewal after that.
- If a payment fails, everything keeps working for 7 days while you update your card. After that, your plan becomes limited: you can't add new blocks or schedules, but every way to turn things back on, give time, message your kid, remove a PC, export or delete your data keeps working. Billing never locks your kid's PC.
5. Cancelling and refunds
- You can cancel anytime from the dashboard (Settings → Plan). You keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Payments aren't refundable for partly used periods, except where the law requires. If you think you were charged by mistake, email support@playeroneparent.com within 30 days and we'll look into it.
- To remove Player One Parent from a PC, remove the PC in the dashboard or uninstall it from Windows Settings with an administrator account; it undoes its changes to Windows.
6. Your content and data
Your family's data is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service to you, as described in the Privacy policy. You can download or delete it at any time. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
7. Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use the service to monitor or control someone who hasn't agreed to it and isn't a child in your care;
- break the law, or use the service to harass or harm anyone;
- try to break into, overload, reverse engineer or get around the security of the service or other families' data;
- resell the service or share your account outside your household.
8. Software and updates
We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use the Player One Parent app and extension while you have an account. The app updates itself with signed updates so it keeps working and stays secure. We own the service and its software, names and logos.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop anytime by cancelling and deleting your family. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk; if we do, we'll tell you why when we can and let you export your data. If we ever shut the service down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any prepaid time you can't use.
10. Disclaimers and liability
We work hard to keep Player One Parent reliable, but the service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, lost game progress, or what happens in games or websites we don't control. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [your state], United States.
