Draft: pending legal review

Legal

Privacy policy

Plain English, no surprises. We collect what we need to run tokens and controls on your kid's PC, and nothing that would let us watch what they do.

Draft dated October 13, 2026.

The short version

  • Parents are our customers. You create the account, add your kids and set the rules. Kids don't sign up and don't need an email address.
  • We count time, we don't watch. We record minutes per game and whether YouTube or a game website is open. We never take screenshots, log keystrokes, keep browsing history or read your kid's conversations. The only messages we store are the ones in your family's own chat.
  • We don't sell your data, show ads or use advertising trackers. This website has no analytics and sets no cookies.
  • Activity history is deleted after 13 months. You can download everything or delete your family at any time from the dashboard.

Who we are

Player One Parent ("we", "us") makes the Player One Parent app for Windows PCs and the parent dashboard at app.playeroneparent.com. Questions about privacy go to support@playeroneparent.com.

What we collect

About you, the parent

  • Account: your email address and the name you choose. If you sign in with a password, we store only a salted hash of it, never the password itself. If you use "Continue with Google", we store your Google account's id and email.
  • Sign-in security: when you sign in, we record the time, a short description of the browser and device, and the IP address, so we can show you your active sessions and email you about a new sign-in.
  • Billing: our payment processor, Stripe, collects your card details. We never see or store your card number; we keep only Stripe's customer and subscription ids and your plan status.
  • Notifications: if you turn on phone notifications, your browser gives us a push address to deliver them to.
  • Support and feedback: what you send us when you email support or use the feedback form.

About your kids and their PCs

  • Kid profile: a nickname you choose. No real name, email or date of birth is needed.
  • PC details: the computer's name, the names of the Windows accounts you link to each kid, the app version and a security key that lets the PC prove who it is.
  • Your rules: schedules, token settings, the games, programs and game websites you add, and controls like "Games off".
  • Play time: minutes played per day for each game, for YouTube and for game websites, and token history (inserted, given, used).
  • Recent programs: to help you pick games to manage, the PC reports which programs ran on your kid's account in the last 7 days: the program's name, its game store (if any) and minutes used (the top 30). This list is replaced every few minutes and only covers the last week.
  • Browser signals: our Chrome and Edge extension tells the PC app five yes/no values: whether a YouTube tab or a game website is on screen or playing sound, whether it's audible, visible, or in a private window. It never sends web addresses, page or video titles, searches or history, and it makes no network requests of its own.
  • Requests and family chat: your kid's requests ("1 more token?"), your answers, and the messages you and your kid send each other in Player One Parent.
  • Health and alerts: whether the PC is online and enforcing your rules, alerts if the app is stopped or removed, and (when you ask for one) a diagnostics snapshot with Windows account names replaced by "child account 1" and similar.

What we never collect

Screenshots, keystrokes or typed text, browsing history, web addresses, page or window titles, which videos are watched, conversations in games or other apps, contacts, photos, microphone or camera, or location.

How we use it

  • To run the service: enforce your rules on the PC, show you status and usage, and deliver requests, messages and alerts.
  • To keep accounts secure: sign-in, session management, security emails and abuse prevention.
  • To bill you through Stripe and send account emails (confirm your email, reset your password, receipts and security notices).
  • To help you when you ask for support, and to fix problems and improve the product.

We don't use your family's data for advertising, we don't sell it, and we don't build profiles of your kids.

Who helps us run it

We use a small number of service providers. They process data only to provide their service to us, under their own security and privacy commitments.

ProviderWhat they do
RailwayHosts our server (the API that the dashboard and PCs talk to)
NeonHosts our database
VercelHosts this website and the parent dashboard
CloudflareDNS for our domains and downloads of the Windows app and its updates
StripePayments, invoices and subscription management
PlunkSends account emails
GoogleOptional “Continue with Google” sign-in
Your browser's push service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla)Delivers phone and browser notifications you turn on

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (and we'd tell you first).

Children's privacy

Player One Parent is a service for parents and guardians. Only adults can create an account. Kids don't sign up, and we don't ask them for personal information: the kid's app on the PC exists so the parent who set it up can see play time and set limits.

Everything we hold about a child belongs to that child's parent's account. You can review it in the dashboard, download it, correct it (rename a kid, change rules), and delete it at any time. We collect only what the service needs, keep activity history for 13 months at most, and never use it for advertising or share it with anyone except the providers listed above.

Please tell your kids that Player One Parent is on their PC and what it does. It's designed to be open, not secret: they see their tokens, their own stats and every message you send.

If you think a child has created an account or given us information without a parent, email support@playeroneparent.com and we'll delete it.

Your choices and rights

  • Download your data: Settings → Family & account → Your data → Download my data, for a complete copy of your family's data.
  • Delete your family: Settings → Family & account → Your data → Delete family. This cancels your subscription first, deletes your family's data, and tells each PC to stop enforcing and undo its changes.
  • Remove a kid or a PC at any time from the dashboard.
  • Delete your sign-in account: email support@playeroneparent.com from the address on the account.
  • Support access is your choice: our support team can only look at your PCs' health after you grant access, for a time you pick (24 hours to 7 days). You can revoke it anytime, every view is logged for you to see, and support can never see your kids' names, usage or messages.

Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have more rights, such as to access, correct, delete or move your data, or to object to how we use it. Email us and we'll help; we won't treat you differently for asking.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Each family's data is walled off from every other family's in the database itself. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. App updates are signed, and the PC checks the signature before installing. No system is perfect, but we work hard to protect your family's data and will tell you promptly if something goes wrong.

Cookies

This website (playeroneparent.com) uses no cookies and no analytics. The parent dashboard uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in.

Where your data is stored

Our providers run data centers in the United States and other countries. By using Player One Parent, you understand your information may be processed outside your own country.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before the change takes effect. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
